MUSCATINE, Iowa – A fourth business located in the Downtown Muscatine District has received a $25,000 small business forgivable loan from the City of Muscatine. Three forgivable loans were presented in July to Meg’s Vintage Collective, Red & Lee, and A&G.

Community Development Director Jodi Royal-Goodwin presented the fourth small business forgivable loan on Friday to Waffle and Pancake House, 303 East 2nd Street, owned by Boni and Marcella Alimoski.

The proceeds from the forgivable loan are pretty much spent according to Boni Alimoski.

“Our main air conditioning unit needed to be replaced and this will ensure that will happen,” Alimoski said. “There are a few other things that need to be fixed that this loan will help pay for.”

The family friendly atmosphere with a variety of food choices that are sure to please everyone is one of the goals that Alimoski set when the family decided to buy the restaurant.

“We want to be more involved in the community,” Alimoski said. “We love this community and this restaurant provides us an opportunity to give back. We want the restaurant to feel like home the moment people walk in the door.”

You can visit them on Facebook or online at Waffle & Pancake House. The Waffle & Pancake is open 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
