MUSCATINE, Iowa — The Muscatine community is invited to an exciting evening of music, mystery, and local talent as young performers take the stage for The School for Spies, an original musical presented by Footliters Traveling Playhouse. The free performance will take place Friday, July 18 at 6:30 p.m. in the Muscatine High School Auditorium. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. — come early for the best seats!
Throughout the week of July 14–18, area youth ages 7–18 have participated in a high-energy theatre camp, auditioning, rehearsing, and preparing to perform this brand-new musical alongside a team of professional teaching artists.
Written by Katie Colletta with original music by Jason Sifford, The School for Spies is a fun and fast-paced adventure set at an elite spy academy. When the mysterious “Moon Cube” goes missing, it’s up to the next generation of agents to solve the case and save the day.
This week-long theatre camp and production were brought to Muscatine at no cost to families, thanks to generous support from Quad City Arts through the Arts Dollars re-granting program, with funding from the Illinois Arts Council Agency, The Hubbell-Waterman Foundation, and the Quad Cities Community Foundation – Isabel Bloom Art Education Endowment.
