MUSCATINE, Iowa – Beginning Monday, June 23, parking will be prohibited on both sides of Cedar Street from Alley No. 3 to Alley No. 4 to accommodate ongoing construction at the Muscatine County Jail. These restrictions will be in place between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday each week, and will be in place through Thursday, July 3 depending on work progress and weather conditions.
In addition to the parking ban, lane restrictions will be in effect as contractors install siding on the Cedar Street side of the building.
Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes when possible, and to allow extra travel time when navigating through the area. The City of Muscatine appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as work on the Cedar Street side of the Muscatine County Jail is completed.
