MUSCATINE, Iowa – The intersection of Fulliam and Sycamore is now closed as part of Phase 6B of the West Hill Sanitary and Storm Sewer Separation Project according to the Department of Public Works. The intersection is scheduled to reopen on Wednesday (May 1) but may reopen at the end of the day on Tuesday, depending on the work progress and the weather.
Phase 6C is underway this week with utility work at the 11th Street and Iowa Avenue intersections. Iowa Avenue will remain open to traffic Monday and Tuesday but will be closed from both directions at the 11th Street intersections Wednesday through Friday. Access to East 11th Street and West 11th Street from Iowa Avenue was closed today (April 29).
Traffic for 11th Street will be detoured to 10th Street.
Access to residences on East 11th Street will be from East 10th Street through the alley. Access to residences on West 11th Street will be from West 10th Street by way of Chestnut Street.
Once the utility work is completed at the intersection, Iowa Avenue will be reopened as will the West 11th Street intersection. East 11th Street will be closed starting May 6 from Iowa Avenue to Sycamore Street as underground work for Phase 6C begins.
All closures and duration of work is weather dependent.
