[ARCHIVED] Muscatine man charged following stabbing incident January 25

MUSCATINE, Iowa – The Muscatine Police Department is investigating a stabbing that occurred Thursday during a family argument that resulted in one man being transported to the local hospital for a stab wound and another man facing several charges following his arrest.

A 911 call was received at approximately 7 p.m. Thursday (January 25, 2024) in which the caller stated that an individual had just been stabbed at 606 West 7th Street. Officers responded to the scene and located a victim, Paul Saravia Lozano (06/28/96), who had a stab wound to his back. A suspect was also located at scene and detained. Lozano was transported to the local hospital and received immediate treatment for his wound.

"GuillermoAfter additional investigation, it was determined that a family argument had escalated and become violent. The suspect, Guillermo Jimenez Palomar (01/10/60), of 606 West 7th Street, was arrested and charged with two counts of domestic assault and one count of attempted murder.  Palomar is being held at the Muscatine County Jail and is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
