MUSCATINE, Iowa – Registrations for Smart Start Basketball, an introductory basketball program designed to teach young children the basic motor skills necessary to play organized basketball, are now underway through the Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department. The program is open to three- and four-year-old children who, with help from their parents, will have the opportunity to learn ball handling, shooting, and agility skills from trained Parks and Recreation staff.
Parent participation is required for this program.
Smart Start Basketball will be held at Central Middle School Gymnasium on Sundays beginning October 28 and running through November 18. Two time frames are available to choose from: 2:00 – 2:45 p.m. or 3:00 – 3:45 p.m.
The registration fee is $25.00 for Muscatine residents and $30.00 for non-residents. A tee shirt is included in the fee. Registration is currently underway with the last day to sign up Monday, October 22.
